CHARLOTTE'S TOOL BOX
Charlotte's Tool Box is a short-film about how permanence and stability can change destiny, one child at a time.
"Who cares? Somebody has to care!"
Ola Mae Moorey
Every child has a tool box.  We can't see them, but they're there!  Tool
boxes filled with tools they've been handed during childhood a
s
preparation for their transition into adulthood.
Charlotte's Tool Box is a
fictional short
-film based on millions of true stories of children growing
up in foster care
, never receiving the stability and permanence needed
to tap into their own dreams and achieve their goals.  We can give
children many tools, but the gift of a stable environment is the key to
shifting a child's destiny.

Charlotte is a determined s
even-year old girl from Seattle.  Each day she
walks home from school, passing local parks and schools, standing
outside of fences,
watching other girls play sports.  She begins
mimicking moves of the players on the fields, dreaming of a day when
she'll be part of a team.

Over the next two years, Charlotte's destiny is shifted.  At age nine, she is
placed into
foster care, but has not lost her passion for athletics.
Charlotte spends the next 11 years in foster care, shifting from home to
home.  Occasionally, she walks by parks,
still standing outside of fences,
watching other girls play sports,
still mimicking their moves like she did
as a little girl. Now at 18, Charlotte is uncertain about her future but is
determined to graduate from high school.  She wonders how her life
may have been different had she been given the stability to achieve her
goals.

Without permanence or stability, how will these children receive the
tools to realize their ability to achieve? Investing in the lives of children
in foster care will shift their destiny, one child at a time. We hope you
consider adoption through foster care.
